I work on human trafficking. It’s a pretty sad subject. One of our traditions at work is to post “daily self care videos” to our chat statuses (this isn’t unique to my organization–we did that in my first internship in Washington D.C.):
Recently there’s been a trend of cute genre actors going on Sesame Street and teaching important life lessons, the clips of which are the perfect antidote to a morning spent reading the daily summary of human trafficking news.
- And the one I remember from my childhood:
“Oh how we love pumpkin season. You did know this gourd-ish squash has its own season, right? Winter, Spring, Summer, Pumpkin…. We anxiously anticipate it every year.”–Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer, October 2010
