I decided to mix it up this Halloween. While Matt carved a lovely traditional pumpkin and photo-bombed my efforts at documentation:
I tried to carve something I thought was really scary. Here’s what I came up with, with the photo captions copied below:
Caption: Going back to coat-hangers as a form of reproductive control really scares me this Halloween.
Caption: Every day, sex trafficking survivors who were sold for sex while minors are thrown in jail for prostitution. Even though any minor in commercial sex is considered a sex trafficking victim under federal law, local law enforcement hasn’t gotten the memo. For me, the cages these survivors are kept in are truly scary this halloween.
Feeling I had done my activist duty, the next pumpkin was a simple demon–much easier to control with that national reproductive and sex trafficking policy:
