Today was the first really hot day in Doha in my time here. The first clear sign that the rainy-season was done? The custodians care for CMU’s building reattached the cloth pillows to the outdoor chairs yesterday. Today, walking to rehearsal at 4pm, I took off my unbuttoned collared shirt and walked in my OpenSolaris t-shirt and my ankle-length travel-skirt*. I think I will try and stay indoors between 12 an 4pm like my Qatari friends do.
And it’s only March.
*ankle length because it lets me sit on the floor without flashing; not so much for cultural norms.
