You’ve probably heard that the tallest building in the world has had a rough year–first its name got changed (from the long-lauded Burj Dubai to the Burj Khalifa) and then its elevator stopped working (just in time for my visit). But even with a rough start, and even if I couldn’t ride its elevator, it was pretty neat to see. Like standing at the base of the Sierras and looking up and up and up, the Burj Khalifa is a little too large to believe. The photo of me standing next to it was taken about a mile away; the ones at the base about a quarter of a mile away. Enjoy!
