Places to Go in Dubai

Some architecture major friends got back from a long weekend in Dubai yesterday, with the following recommendations:

  1. Gold Souq (souqs in general)
  2. Burj Khalifa (for its incredible views of the city)
  3. Water Taxi on Dubai creek (1 dirham, best at night. Keep an eye out for ships full of goods waiting to be bought)
  4. Ski Dubai
  5. The Mall of the Emirates
  6. Old Dubai in general
    To this I’m adding:
  7. Wadi Wadi Water Park

Inspirational Quote:

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”–Eleanor Roosevelt

PS: I’m jealous of Mom’s women’s retreat in California.

  1. Just FYI, Wild Wadi is about $50. It is not on my list, but you are welcome to go if you want. 😛

And I’m up for looking at Ski Dubai, but don’t think I’ll pay the $25 to get in… though I think I already told you that?

Otherwise… I’m super excited! We should meet this week to go over daily plans? And possibly have crepes too. I just bought bananas and Nutella. 😀

  2. I think this list is more of a “places to consider” than “must go”. Budgeting is super important, for sure :-D.
