I had a ton of fun building a website for a friend this weekend and realized I have the skills to build myself exactly the kind of blog I want. So for the next few days, things might get a little crazy.
Long term, this blog will stay up, but the main url will redirect to jessicadickinsongoodman.com, my lovely new domain which I am still grooming. I’ll do a final “Goodbye to WordPress.com, Hello to Self-Hosting!” post with all of the relevant links.
In case you’re interested, I registered my domain with NameCheap because they publicly opposed SOPA, donate to EFF and were recommended by LifeHacker, chose LaughingSquid for hosting because they were recommended by WordPress and I was already following them on Twitter, where they are adorable. I’ll be staying with WordPress for my CMS.

I’m looking forward to your self-hosting/migrating WordPress post! Because I upgraded to WordPress Pro, thinking it would let me upload my own themes, but alas this is not the case. 🙁
