Quick explanation for the second-to-last row of photos. These are photos I took inside an exhibit in a gallery in Dubai. Call the “Hall of Mirrors”, German-born artist Al Braithwaite sketched portraites of controversial figures in the Middle East on antique European mirrors. It was startingly to walk into the gallery and see Osama bin Ladin’s face transposed over my own. I tried to provide photos which conveyed this surprise. The photos, in order, are of Muammar al-Gaddafi (dictator of Libya), Osama bin Ladin (head of terrorist organization Al-Qaeda), Sadam Hussein (late dictator of Iraq).
