I was chatting with a student in the library today, and she asked m the stock question: how do I like it here? I said what I always say–I love it here, the weather is amazing, I love the family-culture of the school–and she interrupts me: “I heard you like the sunny weather better than Pittsburgh!”
This was totally normal. Education City (all of Qatar Foundation in fact) is a small community and with under 10 exchange students at CMU word gets around. I don’t say “I’m taking Europe and the Islamic World”. I say, “I’m taking Ben’s class.”
But back to the glorious weather–we had rain today!
Clouds! But unlike Pittsburgh, these clouds bode well. Doha looks even fresher after a sprinkle. Word on the street is that the Bay Area got drenched last week. Keep warm!
