3 odd things I saw
-Hazy, smoggy sun on the bay
-The parking lot at Al-Jazeera where we waited for over an hour while some logistical security issues were worked out
-Lots of friend with white hennaed hands
3 odd things I heard:
-A seagull cawing–just like at home
-A guy honking at the Karack cafe we visited, telling the service staff he wanted tea brought to him in his car
-A man explaining that I would be uncomfortable visiting the Karack cafe by myself at night, because many of the rural men would stare at me.
3 odd things I thought/felt
-Reluctant but delighted to have someone buy breakfast for me
-So happy to be near the sea again
-Really enjoying talking more informally with a Qatari man as part of a group of CMU-P students he was showing around the cornice.
Food Notes:
I already mentioned this, but Karack is lovely.
