How to Make Your Own Arabic/English Scrabble Set in 5 Steps

Last January I proposed rules for Arabic/English Scrabble. In one of my last weeks of summer, I finally made a prototype. Here’s my process:

First: Take a Regular Scrabble Set and a Sharpie.

Second: Copy the Letter Point Values from Wikipedia (click here)

Third: begin to copy the Arabic letters onto the backs of the English tiles.

Fourth: Admire your handiwork.
Finished Bilingual Arabic/English Scrabble
Fifth: Find someone to play with you.

Here’s my Scrabble set in action. The first commenter who identifies the error on the board will get a care-package courtesy of me.

  1. I’d like to know what is the most productive root, i.e. using the most possible forms and meanings by using the most حركات, giving rise to the most verbal forms, different مصدر, the most homographs etc.
