Balls.

Balls.…of hail. The size of candy-store bubble-gum. All over campus.

Someone’s car got dented.

And speaking of ovarios, I went rock-climbing again today. I went faster, and on harder tracks, than I did on Saturday. The gym was full, almost to the point where women and men were waiting in line. I saw a half-a-dozen shirts from high-level robotics competitions.

Chatting with a much more advanced climber, I mentioned that rock-climbing is the ideal sport for introverts: you don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to, you get to focus entirely on your body, and you get to be fit without getting other people’s sweat on you. He replied that climbing is chess for the body.

Then we ignored each other amiably. I tried to climb on the ceiling, and he was creeping around the edge of the room, a few carefully-balanced inches above the floor at all times.

Though my forearms ache, and I have new and exciting blisters, I can see myself climbing up the next level of course. Now, to work on that upper-body strength.

“The only way for errors to occur in a program is by being put there by the author. No other mechanisms are known. Programs can’t acquire bugs by sitting around with other buggy programs.”–Harlan Mills
