It wasn’t the stunningly huge Burj Khalifa; nor the classy but massive Dubai Mall; it was the dinky dinghies we used to cross the Dubai Creek several times a day during our stay. I love that water-taxis are used by construction workers and tourists alike.
I love the view of the city that you get (the river commands great views of the souqs and small-boat wharves). It was our rocking motion on the water, the careful interaction with the ocean and the traders floating on it. I miss sailing:
Yes, that is the call to prayer in the first 15 seconds, and that is me ruminating (to my travel companion!) about whether the water in the Dubai Creek/inlet was truly brackish or might simply be sea water about 15 seconds before the end. I am such a geek.
