I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a civil trial. All last summer, I watched the lawyers and interns of Human Rights USA work towards the civil trial of Charles Taylor’s son (“Taylor Jr.’s trial was the first ever in the United States under the Convention Against Torture, a statute that criminalizes torture and provides U.S. courts jurisdiction over cases involving torture.” according to the person who wrote the website).
Human Rights USA won Chuckie Taylor’s victims $22.4 million US. They deserve every penny for what they suffered. Human Rights USA rocks.
